March 24, 2011 - Senator Glassman's Senate Bill 497 –Vehicle Laws – Registration Classifications – Class G or Livestock Trailer or Semitrailer, passed with a unanimous vote on the Senate Floor this morning. The bill will now move to the House for committee review.
Senate Bill 497 will allow the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration to issue a Class G farm or livestock trailer or semitrailer registration to an applicant who certifies that the vehicle is used to exclusively transport livestock and the vehicle has a maximum gross weight of 5,000 pounds. The annual fee for the Class G Livestock tag will be $12.75.
